Both the Hungarian national team and Zaza Pachulia BA remained unbeaten on Saturday, securing their spots in Sunday’s Cívis Cup 2025 championship game.
The group stage wrapped up with no doubts left about the hierarchy – the balance of power became crystal clear after three rounds. In Group A, the DEAC boys gave their all to challenge the flawless Zaza Pachulia BA, but two brief lapses proved costly as the Georgians, led by Saba Memarnishvili, ruthlessly capitalized. They pulled away for a commanding 23-point win, sealing a well-deserved ticket to the final. In the other matchup, Prievidza left no chance for the Szeklerland Team, earning a spot in the bronze medal game.
In Group B, the Hungarian U14 squad jumped out to a 32-point halftime lead over MAFC and never looked back. Péter Bazsik’s team broke the 100-point mark once again and will now face Zaza for the Cívis Cup crown. Partizan Belgrade also flexed their muscles, blowing out Inter Bratislava by 42 to set up a third-place duel with Prievidza.
Saturday also featured the Skills Challenge and Shootout Contest finals: Lazar Popović from Partizan proved the slickest ball handler, while Alex Pavlenda of Prievidza earned the “sharpest shooter” title.
